Usually a failed connection, a shorted fixture or a tripped transformer breaker. We trace it properly instead of swapping parts blindly.

Visit siteWhat we don't recommend: thin-gauge aluminum and plastic big-box fixtures with sealed, non-replaceable LEDs. They corrode in coastal air and can't be repaired — only thrown away.

Fixture brands, parts and compatibility
The questions homeowners ask before we service a system someone else installed.
Do you service fixtures you didn't install?
Yes — most of our repair work is on systems installed by someone else. We service FX Luminaire, Kichler, Vista, Unique, Hunza, Coastal Source, WAC, Volt, Cast, Brilliance, SPJ and the rest of the brands listed above, plus plenty of older systems no longer in production.
Are replacement parts still available for older fixtures?
Usually. Brass and copper fixtures from the manufacturers above are built to be rebuilt — sockets, lenses, gaskets, stakes and LED lamps are stocked or orderable. Where a model is discontinued, we retrofit a current LED lamp into the existing housing so the fixture stays in the ground.
Can different brands be mixed on one system?
Yes. Low-voltage landscape lighting is a 12–15V standard, so fixtures from different manufacturers run on the same transformer and wire. What matters is matching beam spread, output and color temperature so the yard reads as one design rather than a patchwork.
Will a new LED lamp work in my existing halogen fixture?
In most brass and copper fixtures, yes. We confirm the socket type (MR16, G4, bi-pin), check the transformer's capacity and voltage at the fixture, then re-lamp the whole system to one warm color temperature so nothing looks blue next to its neighbor.
Are my fixtures still under warranty?
Many of these manufacturers offer long or lifetime warranties on brass and copper bodies, with shorter terms on LED components. We identify the brand and model on site, tell you what's covered, and handle the warranty replacement paperwork when it applies.
Is it worth repairing cheap big-box fixtures?
Rarely. Thin aluminum and plastic fixtures with sealed, non-replaceable LEDs corrode in Orange County's coastal air and can't be opened. We typically reuse the existing wire and transformer where they test sound and replace only the failed fixtures with brass, one zone at a time if budget matters.
